Beautiful art...

I bought two of these absolutely stunning prints from artist Marion Bolognesi last Christmas and can't wait to get them up! Since we had a water leak we've been in rented accomodation for what seems to be forever - however we'll be back in the house in the next couple of months and these babies are getting some gorgeous frames and being hung pride of place.

If you're looking for something different I'd suggest you get hold of some - gorgeous on plain white walls.

 Visit the Marion Bolognesi store

Got quite into my art recently and as well as these I've invested in some lovely Si Scott pieces (reccomended by my friend Colin), absolutely love his artwork - just wish that the stag hadn't sold out - if anyone is ever selling please let me know!

Try Paper Scissor Stone in Leeds if you're looking for Si Scott print. They do framing too, it's expensive but well worth it.

Enjoy!

Once You've had Mac...Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

It's a sad day as Steve Jobs, head of technology giant, Apple Inc resigned as CEO in a move that ended his 14-year reign at the company he co-founded in a garage.

A young Steve Jobs holds the Apple II computer in 1977

As a huge advocate of Apple and an owner of Macs, iPhones, iPods and the occasional use of the new iPad - I can seriously say I will never go back to a PC in my life. Apple and its technology has revolutionised the way in which we now live, work and communicate and it's largely down to the inspirational leader that is Steve Jobs.

Jobs, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003 and underwent surgery, began to grow noticeably gaunt in 2009 and pulled out of appearances, prompting fears that he was seriously ill.

But he denied rumours, releasing a statement saying it was simply a 'hormone imbalance that was robbing his body of the proteins it needs'.

The resignation letter:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

Not all is lost however, as in his new role as Chairman of the Board, Steve will continue to serve Apple with his unique insights, creativity and inspiration.

Good luck to Tim Cook, who has already proved himself a capable successor, looking after the company for stretches of time whilst Steve was recovering. I for one, will be sticking with Apple for the foreseeable future!

You Like Bling?

Does anyone else hide their latest clothing then upon wearing it exclaim to the other half 'oh this old thing, I've had it for years?' No? In that case me neither...

Moving on.

Muchos excitement as my latest piece of jewellery arrived yesterday. Last week I read a lot about teaming strong, quite masculine accessories with feminine shapes or softer clothing. So when I spotted this Multi Link Chain Bracelet by Tutti and Co it was credit card at the ready (if it's plastic it isn't real money you know?)

Multi Link Chain Bracelet

I came upon the Lovestretch site a few months ago after hearing about it from a friend and I love the fact that there's something for everyone. All the clothing has stretch incorporated into it, so whether you're tiny, curvy or even pregnant or post pregnancy, you'll find comfortable designer clothes.

The bracelet was my only treat this month (we're getting an extension and I have a feeling I'll be found raiding the neighbours veggie patch for sustenance over the next few weeks money is that tight) but there's a few other things from the site on my wish list:

Lace Dress - Ti Mo £59 - It would go so perfectly with the bracelet!

Black lace dress
Draped Cardi - £75

Draped Cardi
Multi Chain & Ribbon Necklace - Peter Lang

Multi Chain & Ribbon Necklace

EMU Boots (forget UGGS! It'll be winter soon and they are ridiculously snuggly!)

EMU Sheepskin Lined Boots

In other words, whatever your age or shape Lovestretch is a wonderful online shop full of things which (at the moment) are just a little out of my reach!

The Boyfriend's Cock

What a fine fellow he is too.

That's what you get for working at a top online marketing company based on a polo farm I guess...

Apologies to those who were hoping to see an alternative photo to the one below. You're looking for a different kind of site altogether.

Instagram - Making Distinctly Average Photos Look Awesome

Who doesn't love Instagram? If you don't have it, get it. It makes you feel like David Bailey on speed.

Thank you Instagram, I can now add photography to the CV.

Get it now - you can buy me a drink later.

Anniversary

Today was the day the boyfriend annually forgets our anniversary.

A tenuous 3 years ago (exact date not known) the boyfriend and I got together. Following wishing him 'Happy Anniversary' this morning I received a mortified look and mumblings of 'I'm sure you change the date every year' However, I received some beautiful flowers upon his return from work...

All is forgiven!

IKEA Advert - Brilliant...

Absolutely hilarious advert from IKEA as part of their 'Tested by Everyday Life' series. Turn your volume up and put it to full screen to read the subtitles, father's everywhere will completely understand!

The Perfect Gift for Children This Christmas

Whilst I don't have kids, nor are they on the cards any time soon (see later blog posts re. hands full  with a mad dalmation!) I'm lucky enough to know Kate Gledhill, all round lovely lady, mother of one and creator of new business Gledhill & Co.

Kate's created the most beautiful gifts I think any child could receive. A new range of bespoke, handcrafted, upholstered children's chairs. Believe me, I've seen them in real life and they are simply adorable!

Take a look and see what you think. Not only are they hundreds of fabric options available (and you can order free samples before purchase) they're also available in the gorgeous 'Designers Guild' fabrics - some of the most sought after designs in the interiors world!

The chairs and footstools come in three categories;

The Phoebe Chair

Christmas Comes Early...

Was working on Press Loft today when  I noticed that we're having Christmas a little early this year. Bugger, I'm so not sorted...

There's a New IT Girl in Town and She Goes by the Double-Barrelled Name...

"It isn't beauty, so to speak, nor good talk necessarily. It's just 'It'
- Rudyard Kipling

What truly makes an IT Girl? Sex appeal? style? The size of your inheritance? Take a look at the girls (and guys) everyone wants to be...

Move over Rhianna and make way Paris, there's a new IT Girl in town and she comes with the postcode SW1. With faces that the likes of Jack Wills drool over, these glossy-maned, polo-going girls are today's real IT Girl royalty. Frequently seen on the pages of Tatler dating their double-barrelled named counterparts, these girls are being snapped up by fashion designer across the world as their influence on young women grows.

The original IT Girls:

Clara Bow - The original IT Girl, Clara was an American actress born and raised in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, who rose to stardom in the silent film era of the 1920s. Her high spirits and acting artistry made her the quintessential flapper and the film It brought her global fame and the nickname "The It Girl"

Edie Sedgwick - American socialite, model and heiress was best known for being Andy Warhol's muse. Edie was one of the first women to be named as an IT Girl by fashion mag, Vogue.
